Discovering the city's architecture
Good morning, Barcelona! Let's start the day early, immersing ourselves in the city's architecture. By day's end, we might ponder, 'What would Barcelona be without Antoni Gaudí's colourful, sinuous shapes, and eclectic facades?' Today, we explore Gaudí's masterpieces, including the iconic Sagrada Familia and the captivating Casa Batlló on Passeig de Gracia, known for its curvilinear roof. Casa Milá, or La Pedrera, with its imposing stone-like mass, is another highlight. We'll wrap up our day with a delicious paella!

From the city to the beach
We've spent two days in Barcelona, and it's time to fix a major oversight—no glimpse of the sea! Today, we kick off in Barceloneta, an iconic neighborhood by the shore. We'll meander through El Born's narrow streets, dive into the historic center, and explore the renowned Rambla, home to the vibrant Boqueria market—a perfect lunch spot!
After savouring tortillas and bravas (always with garlic sauce!), our next magical stop is Park Güell. Spread across 17 hectares, this UNESCO World Heritage Site blends gardens and architecture for a unique community space. As we wrap up our day, let's take a break in the Gracia neighbourhood for vermouth and tapas. Cheers!

Opting for the central part of Costa Brava to keep our journeys short, we gear up for a scenic hour-and-a-half drive. Once at our destination, it's a quick change into our swimwear as we embark on the day's decision: which enchanting cove will we explore today? The choices are endless!

Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Exploring beautiful coves
Tossa de Mar stands out as one of the most captivating destinations on the Costa Brava. Its beaches, from the bustling Platja Gran to the intimate Platja del Reig with its array of bars and restaurants, and the fisherman-frequented Platja Es Codolar, offer diverse charms. When the sun gets intense, a stroll through the well-preserved medieval village, Villa Vella, awaits. With 12th-century walls and a castle overlooking the sea, it's a step back in time. The archaeological museum even hosts works by Marc Chagall, who once deemed the city a 'blue paradise.'
In the afternoon, heading north through Sant Feliu and the Baix Empordà area, we encounter a coastline adorned with small bays, coves, and ravines—a continuous stretch of paradise. Whether choosing any beach, each promises a spectacular experience. We bask in the sea until sunset, sipping on a refreshing cerveza or tinto de verano. They say moments like these define happiness—let's confirm it ourselves!

Let's explore the local culture
Embracing the seaside joy with a cultural twist, we set off north after breakfast. Our first cultural stop is in Figueres, home to the Salvador Dalí Theatre-Museum. Continuing north, we arrive at Port Lligat Cove, where Dalí's house stands. A short walk leads us to Cadaqués, a picturesque village with white houses and red roofs—an unmissable spot and a historic meeting place for artists and poets seeking inspiration.
In the afternoon, we might venture to Cap de Creus, a pristine stretch of Costa Brava cherished by Dalí. As the sun begins to set, we start our journey back south, perhaps opting to dine in Girona—an experience worth savouring in its remarkable restaurants. Seeing is believing!

The Begur Massif hills and the extensive coastline along the Mediterranean Sea create a breathtaking landscape. The historic centre of Begur, coupled with the coves and small beaches, forms an unparalleled environment.
Exploring various coves along the Camí de Ronda is an option, or if the mood is more laid-back, simply pick a spot and lay out the towel—today, we're here for ourselves and no one else!
