Itinerary - Texas: A Wild West Road Trip in the Legacy of Cowboys

Welcome to Texas, y’all! After checking in, we’ll hit the lively downtown area for a laid-back stroll, soaking in the city’s skyline and energy. From the urban buzz of Klyde Warren Park, where food trucks tempt your taste buds, to the cultural treasures of the Art District, there’s plenty to explore.

As the evening rolls in, we’ll gather for our first meal together - obviously, Texan-style! Get ready to dig into smoky BBQ brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and buttery cornbread, all perfectly paired with a local brew.

After picking up our rental cars, we’re off to Fort Worth Stockyards, a place that looks like it was frozen in time with longhorn cattle stroll down the streets, honky-tonk music pours out of saloons, and authentic Cowboy shops. We’ll spend the day soaking in the sights, wandering through old-school saloons, checking out western gear at the trading posts, and maybe even trying our hand at some cowboy-style activities.

As the sun dips low, we head to the main highlight of the day: the rodeo.

This is Texas tradition in full force - bull riding, barrel racing, and bronc busting that’ll have your heart pounding louder than the crowd. Fort Worth proudly hosts the oldest indoor rodeo in the world, and tonight we get front-row seats to the action.

It’s wild, it’s loud, and it’s everything we signed up for when we said “let’s be cowboys"!

Dust off those cowboy hats and get comfy - we’re hitting the open road!

After cruising Texas highways, we’ll land in San Antonio, where cowboy legends, Spanish history, and modern-day energy collide.

First up, we’ll check out The Alamo, where tales of Texas independence come to life. We’ll stroll through Market Square, where the air is filled with the scent of sizzling Tex-Mex, mariachi music echoes through the streets, and cowboy boots line the shop windows.

As the sun starts setting, we’ll slow things down with a boat ride along the famous River Walk, where the city’s energy glows under twinkling lights, bridges come alive with music, setting the perfect scene to end our day.

Today’s all about slowing things down and soaking up the Texas Hill Country way of life. First, we kick off our morning with a wine tasting in Medina, where rolling hills meet rich reds and crisp whites - because cowboys deserve a little luxury too.

Then, we mosey over to Bandera, the heart of cowboy country, where old-school honky-tonks, friendly locals, and Western charm welcome us with open arms.

In the afternoon, we head to our ranch for the night, where the only thing on the agenda is taking in the sunset, breathing in that fresh country air, and getting ready for the real cowboy experience that awaits us.

We’re officially going off-grid! No city noise, no schedules, just horses, fresh air, and the kind of home-cooked meals that taste even better after a day outdoors. We’ll hit the trails for a horseback ride across stunning Texas landscapes, then kick back and enjoy the simple joys of ranch life.

Expect big skies, peaceful vibes, and just the right amount of adventure to make you wonder why you ever lived anywhere else.

After one last ranch breakfast, we’re back on the road, but first—we’re heading deep underground! The Natural Bridge Caverns are Texas’ largest cave system, a surreal underground world filled with towering stalactites, winding tunnels, and eerie, cathedral-like chambers.

Then, it's time we roll into Austin, the "Live Music Capital of the World", where creativity oozes from every corner. Colorful murals, buzzing food trucks, and the sound of live music fill the air, setting the perfect tone for our time here.

We’ll spend the afternoon soaking in the city’s vibrant energy, sipping craft cocktails, hunting down the best BBQ, and getting lost in Austin’s effortlessly cool, laid-back charm.

And when night falls? Well, this city knows how to throw a party, and we’re diving right in!

We’re leaving Austin behind and setting our sights on Houston, a city where towering skyscrapers meet world-class culture, legendary food, and a whole lot of Southern charm. After a few hours on the road, we’ll roll into town and dive straight into its urban playground.

From the green spaces of Buffalo Bayou Park to the vibrant murals of the Heights, Houston’s streets are full of surprises. We might wander through Discovery Green, check out Market Square’s historic vibes, or explore the tunnels hidden beneath Downtown (yep, there’s a whole underground city here!).

As the sun dips, we’ll dive into the city’s epic food scene - whether it's tacos, BBQ, or a little bit of everything, Houston knows how to feed its people!

Ever wondered what it feels like to walk on the moon? We might not get that far, but this place is as close as it gets. So, strap in - we’re heading to one of the most iconic spots in Texas: NASA’s Space Center!

Our tour will take us inside Mission Control, where NASA engineers guided legendary Apollo missions, and we’ll check out the Astronaut Gallery, home to real space suits worn in orbit. We’ll also stand in the shadow of a full-sized Saturn V rocket, the same model that sent astronauts to the moon, and explore interactive exhibits that’ll make us all want to launch into space.

As the afternoon winds down, we’ll find the perfect sunset spot to soak in those famous Texas skies, then swap our spacesuits for cowboy boots as we head to a classic honky-tonk. Time to test our two-stepping skills, hit the dance floor, and embrace Texas nightlife the way it was meant to be!

It’s our final full day in Texas, but we’re not saying goodbye just yet! After one last road trip from Houston to Dallas, we’ll have the afternoon to explore the city at our own pace. Whether it’s grabbing those last-minute souvenirs, revisiting our favourite spots, or just soaking in the atmosphere one last time, this is our chance to take it all in!

And just like that, our cowboy adventure rides off into the sunset. After an unforgettable journey through Texas, from rodeos and ranch life to honky-tonks and wide-open roads - it’s time to check out, say our goodbyes, and tip our hats to the next adventure!
