Discovering Marrakech
Walking around Marrakech
Our journey starts from the city that perhaps best represents Morocco: we have a whole day to explore and discover Marrakech with our guide! We start from Jemaa el Fna Square , the nerve center of the city. This square is the site of a large open-air market , called a souk, where you can buy very soft fabrics , tasty dates or fragrant spices . We can have our bodies decorated with henna or have our palms read by a bizarre fortune teller. We then continue with Place des Epices, the spice square, and Palazzo Bahia, a true masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture.
After a quick lunch we move to the iconic Jardins Majorelle , where we can stroll among exotic plants and brightly colored structures - there's no better place to take some iconic photos! We then return to the hotel to prepare for the evening: what good things will we taste this evening?
Accommodation: Dar Ghizlane or similar
Included: overnight stay with breakfast, guided tour of the Medina and entrance to the Jardins Majorelle
Money pot: any extra activities
Not included: meals and drinks
Agafay: a night in the desert
We arrive in the Sahara!
Today our on the road in Morocco officially begins. We say goodbye to Marrakech and immerse ourselves in the Moroccan landscapes, whose warm and welcoming colors will envelop and conquer us from the first glance. We reach the Agafay desert , where we are suddenly catapulted among the desert dunes, camels (or are they dromedaries?!), Bedouins and fires lit on the sand ready to warm us when the sun disappears behind the horizon. We have some time to enjoy a quad excursion in the dunes before returning to the tented camp that will host us this night. We prepare for the Bedouin dinner that awaits us and then we all find ourselves around the fire and under the starry sky - probably one of the most beautiful we will see in our lives.
Accommodation: Dar Inna Camp or similar
Included: overnight stay in a tented camp with breakfast, quad excursion in the desert, Bedouin dinner, private minivan with driver and local guide
Not included: meals and drinks where not indicated
Essaouira: we enjoy the sea of Morocco
Finally sea!
We wake up in the desert - for the more adventurous, we can get up before dawn to see the sun peek through the dunes, it will be worth it! Then we set off again, this time towards Essaouira ! Even today we enjoy the view that flows outside the window until, finally, the Atlantic Ocean appears before our eyes! We have arrived in Essaouira, a port and seaside town on the ocean coast, which will be our home for the next two days of travel - so we will have plenty of time to enjoy the sea and maybe even try to dive into the waves with the board surfing!
Walking around Essaouira
In these two days in Essaouira we will also have the opportunity to discover it with our guide. Very famous here is the Medina on the sea , a UNESCO world heritage site, an example of 18th century European military architecture in North Africa. We explore the Medina and the fish market with our guide and some other neighborhoods near the center and then we are ready to taste some typical dishes of the local cuisine - perhaps this evening it will be the turn of the harira soup , made with chickpeas and lentils! We then return to the hotel, slightly further inland than Essaouira, and not surprisingly: we are here to breathe a little peace, immersed in the Moroccan landscapes.
Accommodation: Les Jardins de Villa or similar
Included: overnight stay with breakfast, dinner on day 4, private minivan with driver and local guide

Lets go back to Marrakech
Goodbye ocean!
This morning we say goodbye to the sea of Essaouira and make ourselves comfortable in our minivan for the last on the road of our journey to discover Morocco. We have about 3 hours of road separating us from Marrakech , so let's enjoy these last moments on the Moroccan roads. After so many days out of the city, it will be a bit of a shock to return to the chaos of Marrakech - but we are ready to enjoy yet another face of Morocco! Once we arrive, we can decide how to keep ourselves busy this afternoon: we can visit the Bahia Palace , a masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture, or venture further into the crowded streets of the souk to perhaps buy some souvenirs.
Accommodation: Dar Ghizlane or similar
Included: overnight stay with breakfast, minivan with driver and local guide
Money pot: any extra activities
Not included: meals and drinks
Marrakech: a little relaxation
A bit of well-deserved relaxation
This is our last day in Morocco and Marrakech and we can decide to use it as we see fit. Included we have the hammam experience , the typical Turkish bath that will allow us to purify the body and, apparently, also the soul. One thing is certain: we will emerge regenerated! We can then relax enjoying our hotel, or explore Marrakech further - the decision is up to us! What is certain is that this evening our last dinner awaits us on a rooftop overlooking the medina , to end our adventure in style!
Accommodation: Dar Ghizlane or similar
Included: overnight stay with breakfast, hammam experience, dinner on the rooftop
