Getting lost in the Albayzin

In the morning we will reach Granada where we are welcomed by the most amazing view...Alhambra, the marvellous red castle on hill overlooking the city and framed by the peaks of the Sierra Nevada on the horizon. It will be hard not to fall in love with it when we visit it tomorrow!

Today let's start off in one of Granada's most charming and characteristic neighbourhoods: Albayzin. Situated on a hill facing the Alhambra, we first admire the city's most beautiful view, from the Mirador de San Nicolas, and then explore the district's twisted streets.

Calle Elvira, one of the most peculiar streets, immediately catapults us into another world: on display in the street are carpets, jewellery, lamps and colourful fabrics exactly like those you might find in a Moroccan souk. We can stop here for the evening in a Teteria, where we can try some tea and smoke a hookah.

Included: overnight stay with breakfast, car hire.

Money Pot: fuel, parking and entrance fees.

The eighth wonder of the world

Built during the 5th century, the Alhambra is a timeless beauty, and we will realise this as we stroll through the gardens of the Generalife, or visit the ornate rooms of the Palacios Nazaries. Once again, we will feel as if we have left Spain and are instead in some distant Arab land: we will have several hours to lose ourselves in the Alhambra and go back in time.

The rest of the day is free: those who wish can continue the sightseeing, such as the Cathedral, the Madraza or the Capilla Real, while those who are less interested in history and culture can have a wander in the centre and start the evening with some sangria.

Included: overnight stay with breakfast, car rental and entrance ticket to the Alhambra Palace

Money Pot: fuel, parking and entrance fees

Not Included: additional meals and beverages

day 6

El Caminito del Rey: adrenaline rush

history
100 %
The ex world's most dangerous road

Our adventure on Spanish soil continues with a route that is... the most dangerous in the world! Just an hour's drive from Malaga is El Caminito del Rey, a route built along the walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes: 3 km of ramps suspended up to 100 metres above the river that will put our head for heights to the test. This place is famous for the condition of the route, which before 2015 had no balustrades or protection, with some collapsed sections.
But don't worry: it is now possible to do this excursion in complete safety, while admiring the landscape around us.
After a few hours suspended in the air, we get back into the car, heading back to Seville, the capital of Andalusia. We can't help but go straight to the Plaza de España. We take a stroll, maybe a boat ride (a group selfie is a must!) and then we go and eat in a typical restaurant, to taste patatas bravas, gazpacho and rabo de toro - bull's tail, which can be eaten as a sauce for pasta or as a second course.

Included: overnight stay with breakfast, car hire and Caminito del Rey excursion

Money Pot: fuel, parking

Not Included: Additional meals and beverages

Please note: The Caminito del Rey excursion is susceptible to adverse weather conditions and in some cases it might not be possible to take part in this activity. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the excursion will be replaced with an alternative activity.
